Chipolo POP – a loud key finder for iPhone and Android

Every household has one. The person who loses their keys, finds them, and loses them again before they reach the door. You know who you are. So does everyone you live with.
The Chipolo POP is a small, round Bluetooth tracker that works with Apple’s Find My network or Google’s Find Hub, depending on your phone. It’s basically an AirTag that doesn’t care which phone you have, comes in six colors and is built to be loud. Very loud.

What is the Chipolo POP?
Chipolo is a Slovenian company that has made trackers since 2013. The POP came out in 2025 and is their cheap and cheerful model. It’s a 38.8 mm (1.53 inch) disc, 6.6 mm thick, with a hole for your key ring. No holder or keyring accessory needed, which is more than you can say about a certain fruit company’s tracker.
It comes in blue, yellow, red, white, green and black. Chipolo says it’s made from about 50% recycled materials.
How does it work?
You add it to the finding app you already have. iPhone owners use Apple Find My (iOS 14.5 or newer). Android owners use Google’s Find Hub (Android 9 or newer). Lost it nearby? Make it ring. Lost it somewhere else? Millions of other phones on that network spot it and report its location back to you.
It works with one network at a time. If you switch from iPhone to Android, you reset the tag and set it up again.
With the free Chipolo app you get a few extras, and they’re the fun part:
- Double-press the POP and your phone rings, even when it’s on silent.
- The same double-press can work as a remote shutter for your phone’s camera. Group selfie, no arm stretching.
- Out-of-range alerts ping you when you walk away from your keys (Android only).
- You can pick a different ringtone and volume.
The battery is a normal CR2032 coin cell that lasts about a year, says Chipolo, and you replace it yourself. The tag is IP55, so rain is fine but a swim is not.
The good and the not-so-good
What I like:
- It rings at up to 120 dB. Tom’s Guide notes that beats the Tile Pro by 10 dB. The keys are under the couch? The neighbors will know too.
- One tracker for mixed households. Your iPhone and your partner’s Android can each have one from the same pack.
- Ringing your silent phone from your keys is genuinely handy, and very few trackers do it.
What could be better:
- Range. Chipolo lists up to 300 feet, but Tom’s Guide only managed about 35 feet in their test.
- IP55 is less waterproof than the AirTag’s IP67.
- Out-of-range alerts are Android only. iPhone users get the ringing and the selfie trick, but not that one.
Who is the Chipolo POP for?
People who lose things. People who travel and want to know if their suitcase made the connection. Families with both iPhones and Androids. A 4-pack also makes a great stocking stuffer: one for each person’s keys, and you can pick the colors so nobody fights over the red one.
Skip it if you want a tracker you can slip into a wallet. Chipolo makes a CARD for that. While you’re packing for that trip, add an AirFly Pro 2 so your own headphones work with the seat-back screen, and if you go where phones don’t, the Garmin inReach Messenger Plus is the serious backup.
Where can I buy the Chipolo POP?
Chipolo sells it on its own site and on Amazon, as single tags and in 4-packs and 6-packs. Tom’s Guide listed a single POP at 29 dollars. The 4-pack in mixed colors is the one we’d get.
Ring, ring. It’s your keys.
