Most air fryers look like a black plastic helmet that fell off a robot. You heat food in it at 400°F every day and try not to think too hard about the plastic part.

The Cosori Iconic is an air fryer with a stainless steel body, and a basket with a ceramic nonstick coating that Cosori says is free of PFAS, PTFE and BPA. Same crispy fries, a lot less plastic, and it looks like it belongs next to an espresso machine.

I’m not sure air fryers needed to get pretty. I’m still glad one did.

What is the Cosori Iconic?

Cosori is the kitchen brand of VeSync. The Iconic went on sale on January 6, 2026, on Cosori’s own site, for 249 dollars. Engadget saw it at Pepcom, the press event before CES. Tom’s Guide called it Cosori’s most expensive air fryer yet.

The basket holds 6.5 quarts. Cosori says that fits a 5-pound chicken, 3 pounds of fries or 20 wings. Inside, the basket is 304 stainless steel (the kind used for cookware) with a ceramic coating. Outside, it’s 430 stainless steel, the kind used for appliances. Fun detail from the listing: a magnet sticks to the outside and not to the basket, and Cosori added a note saying that’s normal.

How does it work?

It works like any basket air fryer: put food in the drawer, pick a mode, wait. What sets it apart:

  • Six functions: air fry, roast, bake, dry, proof and reheat.
  • A range from 90°F (for proofing dough and drying fruit) up to 450°F. Tom’s Guide notes that’s hotter than rival models from Ninja and Philips.
  • A DC motor with five fan speeds.
  • Touch controls under a glass top.
  • App control through VeSync. You can send settings from a recipe in the app, but you still press start on the machine itself. Bob Vila’s reviewer liked that safety step.

The good and the not-so-good

The good: Bob Vila’s reviewer used it for two weeks of family meals and called it an excellent mid-range air fryer. Nuggets, fries, roast veg and even a grilled cheese came out crispy without oil, and faster than she expected. She also liked the reheat mode for leftovers, which came out evenly hot instead of lava outside and ice inside. The basket and crisper plate cleaned up easily, and Amazon lists them as dishwasher safe. Cosori gives it a 5-year warranty, which is long for an air fryer.

The not-so-good: stainless steel loves fingerprints. Both Bob Vila and Tom’s Guide mention smudges, and Bob Vila had to wipe it down all the time. It’s loud in air fry mode (no worse than other air fryers, according to Bob Vila, but not quiet). Tom’s Guide points out there’s no window, so you have to pull the basket to check on your food. And it costs about twice as much as Cosori’s popular TurboBlaze.

Who is the Cosori Iconic for?

It’s for the cook who worries about plastic and nonstick coatings, and for the person whose kitchen is all brushed steel and won’t tolerate a black plastic blob on the counter. It’s a solid housewarming or wedding gift too, since nobody buys a 250-buck air fryer for themselves.

Skip it if you just want cheap crispy fries; a basic plastic air fryer does that for half the money. If glass appeals more than steel, look at the Ninja Crispi glass air fryer. Want an oven-shaped alternative? The Our Place Wonder Oven Pro air fries too. More ideas in our kitchen gadget gifts.

Where can I buy the Cosori Iconic?

Cosori sells it on cosori.com and on Amazon. It was about 250 bucks on Amazon at the time of writing (October 2026), with 4.6 stars from over 300 ratings and an Amazon’s Choice badge.

Fries, minus the plastic. Take my money.
