The HERO 9 is the latest action camera from GoPro. It’s 50 bucks more expensive than its predecessor, the HERO8. For that you’ll get 5K video recording, a removable lens and improvement on all the feautures that make a GoPro camera a GoPro camera.

The most important bump is of course the 5K video, which you can shoot in 30fps. Next to this, you’ll be able to dial down and record in 4K, 2.7K, 1440p and 1080p.

Even though the GoPro is not a dedicated photo camera you can still make decent shots with the 20MP camera.

There’s now also a front-facing screen, which makes it ideal to frame your shots when the camera is facing towards you. No more phone needed to make sure your selfies turn out right!

Just like with previous versions there’s a wide variety of mods available. The Max Lens Mod (about a 100 bucks) provides additional stabilization and an ultra wide angle for your action shots.

The HERO9 has some nice tools onboard to make shooting video easier than before.

The HindSight feature makes sure you you capture a bit of footage even before you press record. This decreases the chances of recording something only after it happened.

You can also set a time for scheduled recording or set a certain recording length.
