Olight Arkfeld Ultra – a flat EDC flashlight with a UV light and a green laser

My phone has a flashlight. It’s fine for finding a dropped key. It’s terrible for anything else, and it drains the battery I need to call someone about the dropped key.
The Olight Arkfeld Ultra is what people in the “everyday carry” crowd put in their pocket instead. It’s a flat EDC flashlight, shaped like a thick marker pen with a clip, that hides three lights in its head: a 1,400-lumen white LED, a UV light and a green laser. You pick which one with a little rotary ring around the button.
Three lights in a bar that fits next to your phone. Very cool and very nerdy, and I mean both as compliments.

What is the Olight Arkfeld Ultra?
Olight is a Chinese flashlight maker with a big following among EDC fans. The Arkfeld series is its line of flat pocket lights. The Ultra’s shell is made of what Olight calls O-Aluminum (OAL), its own alloy, which it says is 1.73 times harder than standard 6061 aluminum. In theory, it keeps looking new longer in a pocket full of keys.
On paper:
- White LED up to 1,400 lumens, with a throw of 103 meters
- UV light at 900 mW, 365 to 370 nm
- Green laser, Class 3R, 5 mW max
- About 120 x 27 x 16 mm and 119 grams
- IPX7 water resistant
- Built-in battery with magnetic charging on the tail
- Battery indicator on the front and a lockout mode
It does get very bright, but not for long. Olight’s own chart lists 4 minutes on Turbo before it steps down. On the 100-lumen Medium setting it lasts almost 10 hours, and the 1-lumen Moon mode runs for 11 days.
How does it work?
You twist the ring around the center button to choose white, UV or laser, then press the button. Lockout mode stops it from switching on in your pocket. A small red indicator lights up briefly when it’s locked, and holding the button for about a second switches it back on.
The magnetic tail sticks to metal, so you can park it on a car hood and work hands-free.
What I like and what could be better
What I like:
- Three tools in one. Olight pitches the laser as a presentation pointer and a pet toy, and the UV light for finding stains you can’t see otherwise.
- It’s flat. A round flashlight makes a lump in your pocket; this one sits like a pen.
- The battery indicator means no guessing.
- It’s popular for a reason: about 1,500 Amazon ratings and 4.6 stars at the time of writing.
What could be better:
- The magnetic charging cable is Olight’s own. Lose it and you can’t just grab a USB-C cable.
- 119 grams isn’t heavy, but you’ll notice it in thin pants.
- A Class 3R laser is not a toy. Keep it away from kids, eyes and airplanes.
Who is the Olight Arkfeld Ultra for?
It’s a great gift for the gear nerd, the camper, the mechanic and the person who checks hotel bedspreads with a UV light (you know who you are). If you only need light during power outages, it’s overkill. A cheap flashlight in a drawer does that job.
For the outdoors person who already has a flashlight, a Garmin inReach Messenger Plus is the next level of “just in case”. And if you’re shopping for someone who owns very little, it fits right into our gifts for minimalists.
Where can I buy the Olight Arkfeld Ultra?
Olight sells it on Amazon through its own store. It was about 96 bucks at the time of writing (October 2026), down from a list price of about 120. Pick a color and white tint: cool white looks bluer, neutral white looks warmer. The box below is the olive green, cool white version.
A flashlight, a black light and a laser pointer walk into a pocket. Take my money!
