Giant Pool Floats: The 8 Best (and Funniest) Pool Floats for 2026

When you buy through links on this page, I may earn a small commission from Amazon or other shops. It costs you nothing extra. How this works.

A backyard pool with an inflatable yellow duck, a pizza float, a shark float and a beach ball in the water

Seeing a giant pool float always brings a smile to my face. Something about a huge inflatable object, way too big for the water it floats in, turns me into a kid again. Yes, blowing one up takes effort. Yes, you’ll need a pump. But the moment a six-foot rubber duck lands in the pool, everybody laughs.

This list covers giant pool floats and funny pool floats that are actually on sale in 2026. I re-checked every pick for this update. A few old favorites disappeared, including the giant cockroach. I’m choosing to see that as good news. For the new picks, the facts come from the makers and from what reviewers say, and I’ll say so when I haven’t floated on something myself.

Quick picks

  • Biggest float on the list: Party Bird Island Giant Unicorn (up to 6 people)
  • Funniest float: Jet Creations $100 Bill
  • Toughest float: FLOAT-EH Moose
  • Best for photos: BigMouth Gigantic Rubber Ducky
  • Best for kids and teens: BigMouth Giant Pizza Slice

Party Bird Island Giant Unicorn – a floating island for six

Giant six-person unicorn pool float on a lake

We saved the best for first this time. The Party Bird Island Unicorn from Sun Pleasure is the biggest float on this list. It won’t fit in your pool. Take it to the lake instead.

The listing puts it at about 10 feet tall and 10 feet wide. It holds up to six people with a weight limit of 1,320 pounds. There’s a built-in cooler, eight cup holders and grab handles to climb back in. It also comes with a high-speed pump, a tether rope and an anchor bag, so your unicorn doesn’t sail off without you.

The con: it’s a lot of vinyl. You need space to inflate it, a place to dry it and a car with room for the box. And on a windy lake, that big unicorn head works like a sail. Use the anchor.

Who it’s for: lake houses, boat days and bachelorette parties. If your “pool” is an above-ground one in the backyard, look at the smaller picks below. For another big group float, see our seven-person inflatable raft.

FLOAT-EH Moose – the float with a Canadian accent

FLOAT-EH is a Canadian company that makes floats shaped like northern animals: moose, loons, raccoons and foxes. The Moose is the one that makes people at the lake stop and stare.

It’s 7 by 4 feet when inflated and holds up to 450 pounds. That’s one adult with room for a second. FLOAT-EH uses phthalate-free vinyl, 0.40 mm thick, and gives a three-year limited warranty. There are grab handles, cup holders and tie-down points. If one moose isn’t enough, the Party Moose is a 12-by-7-foot island for up to six adults. It was listed as a pre-order for spring 2027 at the time of writing (September 2026).

The con: you’ll need an electric pump, which is sold separately, and FLOAT-EH says not to use an air compressor. It’s also pricier than a supermarket float.

Who it’s for: cottage and cabin people who want a float that lasts more than one summer. Also for anyone who has ever wanted to ride a moose. Legally.

BigMouth Gigantic Rubber Ducky – bath time for grown-ups

What’s a pool, really, other than a very big bathtub? And what does a big bathtub need? A very big rubber duck.

BigMouth’s Gigantic Rubber Ducky is yellow, wears slick sunglasses, and the Amazon listing says it stands six feet tall. It’s made of thick vinyl and comes with a patch kit. BigMouth says its giant pool floats hold about 200 pounds, so this is a one-person ride.

The con: a six-foot duck is great in the water and a big yellow problem on the patio. Also, sitting on a duck is less comfortable than lying on a raft. This one is about the photo more than the nap.

Who it’s for: anyone who wants the funniest silhouette at the lake. It’s also a very good gift for someone who takes their pool too seriously.

BigMouth Giant Pizza Slice – hold the anchovies

Are you with exactly eight people? Say no more. The pizza slice is an all-time favorite pool float, and BigMouth’s version is a five-foot slice you can lie on. Put your head on the crust end and pretend it’s a pillow.

The con: it’s a lounge raft, not a party island. At five feet long, taller adults will have their feet in the water. And “eight slices make a whole pizza” only works if you have a very big pool and eight friends with pumps.

Who it’s for: kids, teens and anyone who has ever said “I could eat pizza every day.” It’s cheap enough to buy two.

BigMouth Giant Man-Eating Shark – for the pool with a sense of humor

BigMouth calls this one the “XL Shark Pool Float”, and the joke is in the name. It’s a big grey shark with its jaws wide open, and whoever is riding it looks like lunch. Retailers list it at about 44 x 44 x 49 inches. That’s not the biggest float here, but it looks huge in a backyard pool. It even throws a bit of shade.

The con: one buyer on BigMouth’s site noticed it doesn’t have the big, fast air valve that other BigMouth floats have. So set aside some extra time with the pump.

Who it’s for: Jaws fans, pool party hosts and anyone who likes to scare the neighbors when they look over the fence.

GoFloats Giant Inflatable Floats – flamingo, unicorn or ice dragon

Speaking of pool parties: they’re not complete without at least one giant bird. GoFloats, a company from Orange County, California, makes giant ride-on floats in several styles, including a flamingo, a unicorn and an Ice Dragon. Each one comes with a matching drink float.

On paper they’re over 8 feet long and hold two adults, or a bunch of kids, up to 500+ pounds. The vinyl is raft-grade and UV treated. There’s a rapid valve that GoFloats says inflates in about two minutes with a pump. Grommets front and back let you tie the float to another raft or to a dock.

The con: styles sell out. At the time of writing, GoFloats’ own shop showed the Unicorn, Swan and Bull as sold out, while the Ice Dragon was in stock. Pick your animal early in the season.

Who it’s for: couples and families who want something big, but not a six-person island.

12-Foot Giant Beach Ball – chaos on a windy day

It’s only right to include a classic. The Beach Behemoth that used to top this list is gone from Amazon, but you can still buy a 12-foot beach ball. This one from SC Brands measures 12 feet across and comes with a bonus 24-inch ball, for scale. Or for when the big one escapes.

My favorite Amazon review ever was about the old 12-footer. The buyers spent two hours pumping it up and ten minutes playing with it. Then the wind took it and rolled it down the beach, flattening sand castles on the way, while they chased after it. Keep that story in mind.

The con: you need an electric pump and a lot of patience. And never take it to a windy beach without a plan to hold on to it.

Who it’s for: summer camps, pool parties and anyone who wants to be the talk of the beach. For a smaller (and nerdier) option, there’s the 6-foot Death Star beach ball.

Jet Creations $100 Bill – literally floating on money

This site is called Take My Money, so this float was inevitable. Jet Creations makes a pool float printed like a giant $100 bill. It inflates to 70 x 30 x 7 inches, holds up to 300 pounds and has two handles and two air chambers.

It’s a simple lounge raft, just like the ones you’ve seen a hundred times. The difference is that you’re lying on a hundred-dollar bill, and your friends will take pictures.

The con: it’s a basic raft underneath the joke. No cup holders, no pillow, nothing fancy.

Who it’s for: people who want to make a statement for not much money. It’s also a great gift for the friend who always says they’re “making it rain.”

How to choose giant pool floats

  • Measure your pool first. A 10-foot unicorn in a 12-foot pool is not a float. It’s a lid. Giant islands are for lakes.
  • Check the weight limit, not just the size. A six-foot duck still holds one person. Party islands list both people and pounds.
  • Get an electric pump. Most giant floats take forever by mouth. Check the valve type and whether the maker allows a compressor.
  • Look for thick vinyl and a patch kit. Thicker vinyl lasts longer, and every float gets a hole eventually.
  • Plan for wind. On open water, use a tether or anchor. Floats are toys, not life-saving devices, so keep an eye on kids and weak swimmers.

FAQ

What is the biggest pool float you can buy?

On this list it’s the Party Bird Island Giant Unicorn. It holds up to six people and is about 10 feet tall. FLOAT-EH’s Party Moose is similar in size, at 12 by 7 feet for up to six adults.

How do you inflate a giant pool float?

With an electric air pump. Some floats, like the Party Bird Island, include one. Inflate until firm but not rock hard, especially in the sun, because air expands when it heats up.

Are giant pool floats safe for lakes?

They’re fine on calm water if you anchor them and stay close to shore. Wind can push big floats away surprisingly fast. Never use a float as a life jacket.

Like all inflatables, some of these will spring a leak sooner or later. Don’t sweat it: patch it, enjoy it while it lasts, and check out our favorite regular-sized pool floats for the rest of the summer.
