There’s a new Kickstarter launched for eighties kids. pl8ty is a bluetooth speaker shaped like an old-school Sony Walkman. Instead of supporting traditional cassette tapes, this device allows you to put your phone in it, charge it and play music from its speaker via Bluetooth.
How does it work?
The pl8y features a high quality tubular speaker offering a nice balance between bass and treble. The device also has a 3.5mm headphone jack for when you want to use it like a traditional Walkman. There are real, satisfying buttons on top of the pl8ty to control your music.
There’s a play, pause, back and forward button as well as wheel to control the volume. The pl8ty is compatible with a number of Samsung and Apple phones, including the iPhone SE 2 and iPhone 11 and the Galaxy S10 and S20.
